August 2023 Discussion

The controversy about where to locate The Word of God comes from an acceptance of the desire of God to communicate with men, and that men have responded at various times and in various ways to the inspiration. God walked in the Garden of Eden to chat with Adam (Genesis 3:9).

He confirmed that with Moses, He chats with Moses, mouth to mouth. That is a conversation takes place (Numbers 12:8). An exchange, a discussion depending on how you receive it. He gave them the Urim and Thummim (Exodus 28:30) to communicate His intentions.

In our modern dispensation, we have the person of The Holy Ghost that enters a human body to change their personality to reveal the true intentions of God (Acts 13:44; 1 John 4:13). But how do we put it all together? Will holding the Bible to the enemy’s face scare them or must we have specific quotes from the entire body of work called The Bible to find God’s word? What do you think?

Did you notice Jesus our example, correct the demonic misquote of Satan and his twist of Psalm 91:11-12 in Matthew 4:6? Did you notice the deliberate exception of, “to keep thee in all thy ways” from the original exception. The whole story started by saying that Jesus was tired after fasting for so long to point out important scenario for us. Satan will come for us at our weakest, yet, Jesus was teaching us here not to let our guards down even at these times. But most importantly, we need to know what is being tested here – the knowledge of the scriptures. Jesus was pointing out to us that we need to know our scriptures and their meanings because Satan will not relent in attempting to game us. So, words in the scriptures are very important, particularly, the Word of God. What is written versus what is implied.

Prophet Hosea was admonishing Israel in Hosea 14:2, and he counseled that Israel should go before the Lord with certain words laden with honey. What are these words, where could they be found and why should they be effective when presented to God? In our opinion, one good way to appease someone is to remind them in their own very words. These words of God must exist in the scriptures of the time, which is our Bible today.

So, is the Bible the Word of God or the Bible contains the Word of God? What is your own view?

Anyone can respond to our question without regard to age, nationality, location, or any other discriminatory idea. We will publish the best three responses in our opinion. You will have the right to decide if you want your names and/or photograph associated with your response. If you do not own a personal bank account, you must name someone trusted to collect your money on your behalf. If we believe that you are a minor by the definition of State of Texas, United States of America, we ay choose not to associate your real names with your response during our announcement unless you can provide express permission from a responsible adult.

The questions will be posted a few days before the month, and you will usually have the entire month to research your answer. We will spend about 2-3 weeks reviewing the responses and will announce the winner before the new month comes up.

For example, the entry for February will be posted in the final days of January. Polls will close by February 28. We will announce the results for February about March 20th.

To join the discussion, you are encouraged to answer the month’s question in 250 words or less. Any responses longer than 250 words will not be accepted. Opportunities for that month close on the last day of the month. You can only make one final submission. However, if you make multiple submissions, you must indicate the date of your final submission or you lose out of the contest. Please save your work as a draft until you are ready to submit, this is the best way to avoid multiple confusing essays.

It is important to state that we do not think that there are right or wrong answers to these questions, and we have quite a bunch of them going forward. They are not yes or no question-and-answer posts. We have had some debate in our own boardrooms hence, we believe Christianity ill benefit as we adopt the ‘iron sharpens iron’ approach in bringing these issues to our general attention.
