Does God Exist? - Part 5
Abstract
In the New Testament, the highly schooled members of the Council could not hide their surprise at the level of intelligence and depth of knowledge possessed by the apostles just because they had spent some time with Jesus. After all, these were mere artisans at best. This is the kind of wisdom to be gained from taking time to study a man like Prophet Ezekiel. He reveals that God is a covenant keeping God. He is the Almighty God, and nothing is impossible for Him. Ezekiel is the only person other than Jesus Christ that God addresses as “Son of man”. In the 21st Century, we still have physically existing evidence of the manifestation of his prophecies. Ezekiel exposes us to the workings of the Holy Ghost and especially, the prophetic ministry.
Practicality of Holy Ghost Power
TThis revelation of prophet Ezekiel has been unique in its evidence-based perspective. Prophet Ezekiel gives those of us with 21st Century curious intensity the opportunity to review scriptural claims criteria that meets scientific research investigation and reporting.
Of great relevance for critics of Christ followership is the demonstration of how God works through the Holy Spirit to achieve its objective. The fundamental statement of God using Israel as a prototype for humanity is proven by the power of literacy of God chosen servant, Prophet Ezekiel in his book. A prototype both in blessing and judgement. One must ask himself one important question to get the essential revelation from this tortuous literature of Ezekiel. Are you living for today or does eternity matter to you?
To elucidate, the right of Ezekiel to the prophetic, we see God calling Ezekiel by putting His hand on Ezekiel. Then, to work with God, one must be ready to discipline himself to listen and His instructions. God told Ezekiel to get on his feet and to listen. When such an insight comes, one must be ready to listen. When God realizes that one has matured to that level, then, God begins to speak through that person as His servant, and a prophet to His people to provide guidance for them. This formula can be deciphered in the life of every prophet in the Bible. It is key to demonstrating the power of God in any age.
Key To Manifesting Holy Ghost Power
Essentially, the Word of God is the tool for manifesting the power of Holy Ghost. But how does one find the power word, word that activates the prophetic status?
In my estimation, this is the relevance of this tough lesson in the 21st Century. It may appear challenging for the young Christian, can be very easy because it is openly out there. We saw it demonstrated in many Old Testament situations and prophets including Ezekiel. Yet, these people are so remote from us today. It is easy to regard them as some form of super-humans. Imagine, Moses got to the extent that his face had to be covered by a veil before he could mingle among other men. Yet, the scriptures decode Jesus Christ to us as the one to baptize us with power (Matthew 3:11; Luke 3:16). The scriptures claim that the same Jesus Christ is the Word of God responsible for everything (John 1). The acquisition and use of the Word of God for Holy Ghost demonstration of power in 21st Century disposition were decoded by Apostle Paul who made clear the plan of God for the ultimate dispensation to include everyone (Ephesians 1; Colossians 1:25-27).
The Word of God comes to man in many ways. In the Old Testament times Moses and Ezekiel, the Spirit came on the men, showed them things, helped them make pronouncements and probably left them alone for a while. In the New Testament times, Jesus became Emmanuel with us. He actually walked this earth with us and manifested. We have since moved into the Holy Ghost dispensation that Jesus promised, that John identified, and that Paul revealed because He actually lives inside everyone of the children of God (1 John 4:13-15).
There is the written word of destiny which manifests in the lives of His servants, Moses, David, Jeremiah, and Jesus are examples. Studying the scriptural documentation such as the Bible opens one up to the revelation written word of God (Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 2:15; Joshua 1:8). There are various ways the Holy Ghost reveals the word of God to us through visions, dreams and other forms. These routes of spiritual connection generate what is commonly referred to as the Rhema Word produce life giving or creative revelations (Genesis 31:10; 37:5; Joel 2:28; Acts 10:19). Words might come to us by prophetic declarations (Hosea 12:13; 2 Chronicles 20:20; Isaiah 44:26; Ezra 6:14; John 10:27). When mixed with faith these declarations propel one to prosperity, they confirm words that what we may have come across, they manifest creative miracles and healing, or build up others spiritually. Prophets are instituted to provide spiritual guidance to people and nations. In addition, other than through prophets, God can speak to individuals directly because the Holy Spirit displays personality traits that includes speaking (Isaiah 30:21; Romans 8:14).
Testimonies Backing God’s Present Existence
The purpose of the Holy Spirit in this dispensation is to prove the reality of God and restoration of His children to His kingdom by the sacrificed blood of Jesus Christ.
Ezekiel teaches us that the production of testimonies is to encourage and empower men to apprehend the offer of grace for the salvation of souls rather than for personal pride. You don’t become more macho, but you love the Lord for supporting your compassion for men by restoring destinies and prosperity to populate the kingdom of heaven as men return to God. Ezekiel started prophetic ministry exactly when he reached the legal age to minister. By the time of his death, God has addressed him as son of man at least 77 times. The Bible reveals that only Jesus Christ was addressed in such terms by God.
Ezekiel started young but also as a highly literate and entitled young man from an elitist background. His use of symbolism and literary sophistication gives us the insight that prophets other than Apostle Paul are used but God to guide man. In Chapter 47 specifically, Ezekiel tells us about the growth process in the study and use of the Word of God, Jesus. The only thing that will come out of the Temple of God are instructions, the Word of God. But Ezekiel metaphorically calls it water.
The water then rises up his ankles, then his knees and then to his loins before he is taken to see the degree of fruitfulness that the nutrition contained in the water has produced. The ankles relate to guidance and how God orders one’s steps (Psalm 119:105). The water soaking up to one’s knees talks of submission and going down on our knees as we understand the power of prayer. When we are submerged up to our loins, our entire reproductive ability totally depends on God. Symbolically, Ezekiel is encouraged to rise and to swim in God’s word, the water.
The water then rises up his ankles, then his knees and then to his loins before he is taken to see the degree of fruitfulness that the nutrition contained in the water has produced. The Dead Sea was resurrected to life and the land bore all manner of fruits. Israel takes the lead in the acquisition of choice portions of the land, yet God made specific provision for non-Israelites. All relying of the word of God emanating from His restored Temple. Therein, lies the power to manifest the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire God gifts you with (Mark 16:15-18; Acts 1:8).

Conclusion
Many genuinely question the existence of God. A good look at the records of Prophet Ezekiel helps to put many of their concerns in perspective and probably answers them all. God reveals himself in a way that is unprecedented in this book. It is a wonderful resource for literary students because of its high level of literary flair as decodes a lot of mystery and power while providing proof about the concern and intervention of God in the affairs of men. A study of Ezekiel also helps to respond to the concerns of many on the centrality of Israel, an apparently non-Christian nation as the heart of Christian references and the relevance of Israel and unalloyed commitment for the survival of the followers of Christ. The tangibility of physical evidence provided to us by Ezekiel certainly proves the intervention of extra-natural forces in the affairs of men. Ezekiel calls Him, God.
